Giant`s Causeway will have an unusual preparation for the Breeders` Cup Classic when he gallops on the all-weather at Southwell tomorrow afternoon.
The Aidan O`Brien-trained 'iron horse' had been set to run in the Dubai Champion Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday but Montjeu`s participation in the race has caused the switch to the Nottinghamshire circuit.
A member of the Ballydoyle team came over to look at the course earlier in the week and found the surface similar to the one the colt will encounter at Churchill Downs on November 4th.
And now officials at Southwell are looking forward to having Giant`s Causeway and his galloping companions at the track.
Clerk of the course Michael Prosser said today: 'I`ve had quite a few people calling me, who are ardent Giant`s Causeway fans, and just want to see the horse work.
'They`ll be able to come in and stand in the members` enclosure and, depending on how many people are there, we will hopefully make some catering facilities available.
'We`ll try and look after anybody who makes the effort to attend.'
The fibresand surface at Southwell has withstood the recent spell of wet weather well.
'Because of the refurbishment programme the track has taken the rain very well indeed,' Prosser added.
'The track is in absolutely perfect condition.'
